Angela and Colin’s Lake Dillon engagement was the perfect summer evening in the mountains of Colorado.
The scenery around Lake Dillon is endless; evergreen trees, mountain views, and boats on the lake. While out on the dock, Angela and Colin wanted to stick their feet in the water for some photos. After our casual outfit photos, we hopped in the car and headed to the East side of Lake Dillon. These two planned their outfits like pros! Angela brought a long yellow skirt, while Colin dappered it up in a collared shirt.
“Colin and I met in July 2015 at our friends’ wedding in Larkspur, CO. I was maid of honor for my friend, Lauren, and he was attending as a good friend of the groom. After spending some time together over the few days of wedding activities, something clicked and we exchanged numbers to keep in touch. It wasn’t long before trips between St. Louis and Silverthorne were planned! Colin and I continued to date long-distance over the following nearly two years while I finished up grad school in St. Louis. Once I graduated, we both moved to Denver and enjoyed finally spending more than a weekend every 4-6 weeks together.
About a year ago we decided to build a house in Westminster, and we would often drive out to the house on Sunday afternoons to check in on the progress. On a Sunday back in November, we made plans to stop by the house before we went out to a nice dinner he had said was to celebrate his parents’ anniversary. We were walking around our house and when I got up to our master bedroom I saw a vase full of pink roses and a bottle of champagne chilling! Colin had surprised me with a beautiful proposal and I, of course, said YES!”
