I was honored to be chosen as Savanna and Noah’s Salida wedding photographer as this backyard wedding was full of giddy summertime fun.
Savanna and Noah chose to be married at Noah’s parent’s
cabin in Salida. This sweet home is tucked away behind lush green foliage of
Chaffee County. Secluded and quiet, this was the perfect setting for an
intimate backyard wedding. Navy and gold decorations flow throughout the cabin
and family style tables. Since Noah is a pilot, the two chose to have travel
and airplane decorations scattered throughout the wedding. Noah even had
airplane cufflinks. Noah also had his old yellow truck parked out back to add a
little more rustic character.
Savanna’s 3 sisters sang along to musicians playing violin
as Noah took his place at the ceremony. Savanna’s face broke into tears and
laughter when they saw each other. In the sweet heat of summer, these two said
I do. Their wedding party surprised them with a dance back down the aisle to
Chris Brown’s Forever.
All the backyard wedding feels
Afterward, Savanna, Noah and I wandered around the property chasing
the golden light pouring through the trees. These two have such calming spirits
and I enjoyed every second of my time with them. The reception was set up as 2
large family style tables so everyone could enjoy dinner in the small patio
space of the backyard. A coloring table and yard games kept the kids content
while the adults sipped on hot coffee. As this wasn’t your typical wedding,
Savanna and Noah didn’t do any dancing or bouquet toss, but instead enjoyed the
company of each of their guests.
A bright and cheerful sparkler send-off concluded Savanna and Noah’s day. I hope to more opportunities in the future to be a Salida wedding photographer as this day made me fall in love with this town and it’s people.
